This handmade designer dog collar features Swarovski Crystal Aurore Boreale crystals and star shaped rivets, and can be made in the leather colour of your choice, which can be viewed at our colour options page.
Once you've selected the colour for your half check colour, decide on the width most suitable for your dog. This style of collar can be made in 5/8", 3/4" and 1" widths. The larger the width, the more weight the chain will have.
Next, choose the size of collar that you'll need for your dog.
To correctly fit a half check collar take a tape measure around the dogs neck where you would like the collar to sit.
Make sure that the tape measure is quite snug around the neck. If the measurement was 14", you would need a 13" collar.
This will ensure that when tight there is still about an inch gap between the two D rings on either side of the collar, and the dog will be unable to back out of the collar, but will still be nice and comfy when loose.
It is important to make sure that the collar is not permanently tight around the dogs neck.
The purpose of the collar is to allow you to check the dog, then release. This way there will be no discomfort for the dog, but it will quickly learn where the heel position is.
All P'etiquette collars are lined with a soft pigskin leather lining (black or brown dependant on collar colour). The lining ensures that all of our luxury collars are nice and comfy for your dog.
Finally, decide whether or not you'd like a matching lead. The leads will be made in the same width as the collar, and can be made in the same style as the colours with crystals and stars at the bottom of the lead next to the clip, or as a plain leather lead with no decoration. All of our leads are lined with black or brown pigskin lining leather also.

| Fitting Guide | To correctly fit a half check collar take a tape measure around the dogs neck where you would like the collar to sit. Make sure that the tape measure is quite snug around the neck and make a note of the measurement. Select the neck size from the drop down menu, we'll then make the collar accordingly. If the neck size was 14", then we'll make the collar so that the leather and the two rings on either side of the collar will measure approx 13". This would then give about an inch of chain when tight, so the dog will be unable to back out of the collar, but will still be nice and comfy when loose. It is important to make sure that the collar is not permanently tight around the dogs neck. The purpose of the collar is to allow you to check the dog, then release. This way there will be no discomfort for the dog, but it will quickly learn where the heel position is. |
